Marise Gaughan at The Oxford Comedy Festival

  • Trinity College Bar Broad Street Oxford, England, OX1 United Kingdom (map)

A show about addiction, but not the serious Ted talk kind. Rehab, sleeping with old men for money, AA, the boring mundanity of sobriety. All grim topics, but I promise it’s no sob story . It’s about the humour in the darkness, and the search for light, living a brand new life with no tequila bottle in my hand , involving a year in Morocco learning to learning to surf, falling in love with my surf instructor, while is a tale as old as time. The cultural differences between Ireland and Morocco, the arguments of which country consumes the most potatoes (per capita, you always have to per capita your Google searches), and my valiant attempt to quit another addiction- reality tv. No real lessons will be learned, except perhaps a lesson on how not to live your life. But that’s showbiz baby!
