A storyteller, Blues singer/songwriter, director, and accomplished actor who has worked at the National Theatre, and toured with the Royal Shakespeare Company, Sameena Zehra added comedy to her performing life in 2011. Since then, she has written and toured several shows, which have played in the UK at Edinburgh, Camden, Derby and Manchester Fringes, and travelled to Adelaide & Perth Fringes and the Melbourne International Comedy Festival.
Sameena also runs a wandering comedy compilation night, ‘The Cult of Comedy’, which showcases 'musicians, clowns and wordmongers'. It's a Cult worth joining, for performers and audience alike.
Sameena runs 'Stagecraft for Comedians' workshops and she directs, and co-writes shows for other performers, including storytellers, poets and comedians.
Sameena gets a lot of her writing done while she doodles- the doodling allows her mind to wander as the words percolate until they are ready to be transformed in to a show.
