Cally Beaton

Wednesday 17 July @ 7:45, Arts at the Old Fire Station

Cally is a natural storyteller full of intelligent, distinctive and punchline-rich material. Listed on Chortle 2017: Comedians To Watch, her act is a rollercoaster ride of anecdotes, observations and stuff even your best mate wouldn’t admit to. She is London-based and performs in venues across the UK, as well as regularly appearing on the US and European circuits. Winner of New Comedian of the Year 2018 Piccadilly Comedy Club, she has amassed many prestigious Finalist credits since starting out in 2014 (after a conversation with Joan Rivers before she died - would have been weird after she died).

Cally is currently touring the UK with previews of her brand new show, Invisible, which she will be performing at the Edinburgh Fringe in August 2019. Her debut solo show, Super Cally Fragile Lipstick, was a sell-out hit at Edinburgh in 2017, receiving 4**** reviews, national press coverage and picked as Best of Edinburgh Fringe by The Arts Desk. Her 2016 Edinburgh show, Cat Call, with comedy partner Catherine Bohart, received a Malcolm Hardee Award. Her radio and television appearances include: BBC Radio 4, BBC Radio London, BBC Radio 6 Music; her latest episode of QI on BBC2 went out in February 2019. She is a popular and seasoned speaker and MC on the corporate and after-dinner circuits.

She relishes engaging with live audiences and turning gender stereotypes on their head. She is awesomely funny. And modest too.
